Thank you for considering Kawkawa Camp & Retreat as a destination for your Retreat.
Accommodation: Our accommodation is based upon being housed in either our Dogwood Lodge (10 – 12 rooms with two single beds per room, 2 rooms with double beds) Cottages (each sleeps 8 people with two double and 6 single beds), Chalets (each sleeps 12 people with 2 double beds and 10 single beds) All of our accommodation has full washrooms with showers in the accommodation.
Meeting Rooms: We have several rooms for meetings. Our Dining Hall being the largest and holds 150, we have a Chapel on the beach that holds 80+ and several breakout rooms which hold 40 – 80 each.
Activities: We have a number of onsite activities including Canoes, Kayaks, Surfbikes, Water Trampoline,Outdoor Movie Screen, Archery, Riflery, Frisbee Golf, Bouldering room, Beach Sand Volleyball, Playing Fields, 3 Campfire pits, Arts & Crafts, Ping Pong, Foose Ball, Ground and Tree Teepee’s, Beach Bar-B-Q and outdoor Pizza Oven areas. We also have excellent walking and hiking trails to the river or Othello Tunnels from the property. Additional cost for Archery and Riflery would run $35.00 per hour per activity. The activities are listed in our Activities information handout and have the prices and options available. Canoes and Kayak’s are included in the price so there is no extra charge for them. We are close to Streams & Creeks for Outdoor Education and Nature studies and have several old growth Douglas Fir Tree’s on site that are 500 – 700 years old. Our property boarders hundreds of acres of Crown Land with beautiful walking trails.
Food Services: We serve excellent meals with two restaurant trained chef’s on site. Special dietary needs, allergies, and preferences can be accommodated with advance notice. Meals are served as follows; Breakfast at 8:30AM, Lunch 12:30 PM, Dinner 5:30 PM, Snack 9:00 PM. Coffee and tea service is open 24 hours and a bowl of fruit is always available.
Rental Rates: Costs are related to food and overnight stay. A sample cost for a weekend that starts with a late night snack on the Friday night and features three full meals on the Saturday plus a late night snack and then two meals on the Sunday is $140.00 (plus HST) per person with children under 5 years old free. This price will vary if meals/accommodation are added or subtracted from the stated schedule. The per day price is $78.00 (plus HST) per person per day including all meals and accommodation. We would prefer a group size of 35 minimum but if we have a group with similar interest to your already on site we can allow less than the 35 minimum.
